Kissimmee 5K Race for Healthy Hearts.
The City of Kissimmee is hosting its annual KISS-I-MEE 5K race for promoting heart health on February 11th 2012. The race begins at Toho Square near the Osceola County Courthouse and takes you through historic Kissimmee and past the picturesque Lake Tohopekaliga.

Auto Show weekend at Orange County Convention Center.
The International Drive Convention Center in Orlando is hosting this holiday weekend the ‘Central Florida International Auto show’.
Open on Thursday November 24th to Sunday November 27th 2011.
Friday and Saturday 10am-10pm.
Sunday10am-5pm. ‘Kids day’ when children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an paying adult.

Family Events at the Orange County History Center Orlando.
Wednesday 30th November 2011. The festive lighting of Heritage Square at 6.15 pm with musical performances, refreshments, crafts, explore the museum and have a visit with Santa.
Saturday December 10th 2011. Family Adventure Day: Drop and Shop. Leave the children with museum staff chaperones to have an afternoon of craft making and watching movies. Whilst the grown ups do their Christmas shopping. Register and book beforehand.
Sunday December 11th 2011. The museum will be holding ‘The Serious Art of Make-Believe Exhibition’ where the Universal Orlando Resort design team are holding a Meet and Greet session and talking about their exciting art and design work.

Veterans Day Parade in Orlando.
Today is Veterans Day in the United States of America, a day when thoughts are turned to the men and women in the armed forces that have bravely fought around the world past and present.
As a tribute to them there will be a parade on Saturday 12th 2011 at 11.00 a.m. In Downtown Orlando.

Downtown Kissimmee’s Festival of Light Parade December 2011.
Kissimmee Florida will be holding the ‘Festival of Lights Holiday Parade’ on Saturday 10th December, bringing the community together, inviting groups, citizens and businesses to take part.
There will be floats decorated with the theme ‘Santa’s Workshop’ street performers, costumes and an evening planned with fun filled activities.
The parade begins at 6.00pm.
Clocks go back in the USA. November 6th 2011.
In Orlando and the rest of the United States the clocks go back an hour to Standard time this week-end. Sunday November 6th at 2 a.m. in the morning.

Music Festival Week-End at Citrus Bowl Orlando Florida.
A music festival will be held at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Florida this coming November. ‘Orlando calling’, the launch of this new event will be drawing in headliners such as Bob Seger, Kid Rock, The Killers, The Pixies, The Roots and many more well known artists playing R&B, Country, Rock, Alternative, Folk etc.

Celebrity Mascot Charity Event at Orlando’s Amway Center Florida.
In Orlando there is a charity event at the Amway Center Friday July 29th and Saturday July 30th. It starts at the Stetson University on Thursday July 28th, and is called the Celebrity Mascot Games it is an annual event where 30 sports mascots ranging from American Football League and League Baseball gather from around the country to compete in gladiator type games. Proceeds will go to the charity ‘New Hope For Kids’ which is based in Orlando.

Kennedy Space Center Florida/Shuttle Endeavour Launch.
NASA have announced that the delayed launch of the space shuttle Endeavour at Kennedy Space Center Florida, has been re-scheduled to Monday May 16th 2011. The engineers have been working on the problem which caused the delay and are happy with their results.

‘The Great American Pie Festival’ will be once again held in Celebration Florida on April 9th and 10th 2011.
Pie lovers will gather from around the country to bake, compete and taste award winning treats, children can also take part in activities and competitions.

Florida’s Parks Are Still Popular For Vacationers
It’s comforting to know that in these hard times of recession, holidaymakers are still flocking to Walt Disney World, Universal, and SeaWorld Florida.
Over the Easter period crowds of people are reported to have visited the parks. Normally this is the busiest time but under these economic circumstances one would have thought the numbers would be down!

Orlando is the place to make dreams happen.
A Contestant on the B.B.C. National Lottery show ‘In It to Win It’ called Toni Cox, had Britain glued to the TV on Saturday night. He answered all the correct answers and won ‘one hundred thousand pounds’.
Before his last question, he stated that his ten grandchildren would be sitting in front of their TV’s at home willing him to win so they could all go to Orlando for a holiday.
